How It Works

Step 1 – Arrange for a conference bridge and access code from your company or business.

Please provide at least 12 hours’ notice for any conference call that you need captioned to guarantee coverage. Events with less than 12 hours advance notice will be covered using our best efforts, but cannot be guaranteed.

Step 2 Book an Event by completing the online ordering form including date, time and conference call number and access code.  Hours of operation are 8 AM to 6 PM local time zone.  A confirmation email will be provided within one business day.  RCC is intended for people who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing who are requesting Relay Conference Captioning support for conference calling, webinars or multiparty calls.

Requestors of the RCC service will receive a confirmation e-mail with the Event ID, as well as the Web address for you to access your captioned call. Access the provided web address a few minutes prior to the start of the call and follow along with the captioned text as it captures what is spoken on the call in real-time.

Step 3 – RCC captioner will access the event through the same conference bridge and access code approximately 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the call.

Participation Options:

  1. A text entry window is provided for you to type to your captioner. Your comments/questions will be spoken on your behalf by the captioner at the earliest break in the discussion or otherwise where appropriate. As the captioner is speaking on your behalf, you will see your original text to the captioner added to the real-time streaming display.
  2. If you prefer to speak directly into the discussion or conference call, please join the audio conference bridge provided for all participants.

Accuracy and how you can help

As captions are performed in real-time, errors may occur with captioning content on demand. For the most efficient captioning, please provide as much advance information to  about the event including proper names, agenda, speaker notes, PowerPoints, and any additional information that will benefit the captioning experience.

Canceling a scheduled call

We understand that cancellations or event changes may occur. Cancellations or event changes must be received within 12 hours of an event. Please e-mail us at and let us know of the change, along with the Event ID.
