Federal CapTel service is available nationwide (all fifty [50] states, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Island, Guam and the Northen Marianas) to active Federal employees. There are new options available depending on your qualification status.

Note: As of December 28, 2007, Sprint no longer distributes free Federal CapTel phones to Federal employees.

ACTIVE FEDERAL EMPLOYEES

Option#1: Federal employees who work for a military and/or civilian (partnering agencies only), can apply for a Federal CapTel phone through Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program (CAP). For a listing of DOD and Civilian partnering agencies, go CAP customers.

If your agency is a partner, go to "apply" to begin your request for a Federal CapTel phone. If you have any questions about CAP, inquire with Kristin Piorkowski.

Option#2: Federal employees whose agency does not qualify for CAP (above), your agency would need to purchase a Federal CapTel for them on the GSA Schedule.

There are two types of phones that can be purchased from Potomac Technologies on the GSA Schedule:

1) CapTelfor $352.63 (755-002403)

2) CapTel with USB Port for $443.30 (755-002503)

VETERANS

Option#1: All veterans can apply for a Federal CapTel phone through the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) through a VA audiologist. (No domestic toll charges)

Option#2: All veterans can apply for a CapTel phone through their State programs. For further details, click "availability". (Will incur domestic toll charges)

RETIREES

All military and civilian retirees can apply for a CapTel phone through their State programs. For further details, click "availability".

TRIBAL MEMBERS
